Shelby Houlihan

Shelby grew up in Sioux City, Iowa and went to Arizona State University where she was a national champion in the 1500m and a 12-time All-American. After graduation, she began running for Nike and the Bowerman Track Club in 2015. She was a 2016 Olympian in the 5000m, finishing 11th in the final and claiming the title of first American. Shelby is a 5-time National Champion and was part of the 2017 World Championship team and the 2018 indoor team.

Carrie interviews Olympian and American record holder Ryan Hall! Ryan discusses the the new training group he's starting in Flagstaff, coaching his wife Sara, strength training, and the 2018 Boston Marathon.

Ryan Hall

Ryan holds the U.S. record for the fastest half marathon, earning the honor as the first American to break the one-hour mark. He won the 2008 United States Olympic Trials for the marathon and went on to place tenth in Beijing, then again represented the U.S. at the 2012 Olympics. At the 2011 Boston Marathon, Ryan became the only American to run a sub-2:05 marathon. He announced is retirement from professional running in 2016. Ryan and his wife Sara have four daughters: Hana, Mia, Jasmine and Lily.

Gabriele Grunewald

Gabriele "Gabe" Grunewald is a professional middle-distance runner, multi-time cancer survivor, and new founder of Brave Like Gabe, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting rare cancer research and empowering all cancer survivors through physical activity. She is a lifelong Minnesotan and former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher, where she initially walked-on before becoming an NCAA runner-up in the 1500-meters in 2010. Gabe is a USA Track & Field champion (2014 indoors) and has inspired many through her efforts to continue training and racing through her lengthy battle with a rare cancer, adenoid cystic carcinoma. Her role as an advocate and inspiration in the cancer community has grown in recent years but she is still running and aiming for the USA Olympic Trials in 2020.

Tim Hutchings

Tim is a former middle and long distance runner who represented England and Great Britain internationally, including the 1984 Olympic Games. After retiring from competition, Hutchings co-founded the Brighton Marathon. Tim is does commentary worldwide for major running events and has worked for the BBC, Eurosport, NBC, ESPN and USATF.tv.

Sarah Sellers

Sarah is a nurse anesthetist and the runner-up finisher at the 2018 Boston Marathon. Sarah is a Utah native and competed for Weber State University where she holds the Big Sky Conference record in the 10,000 meters (32:51). She ended her collegiate career early due to a navicular stress fracture. Sarah lives and trains in Tucson, Arizona with her husband, Blake, and border collies, Indy and Basin. She loves mountain biking, hiking, scuba diving, and wildlife watching. She also enjoys cooking and experimenting in the kitchen to, as her husband says, "find ways to making healthy food taste good." She is very passionate about family and rooting for the success of her 6 siblings (1 sister and 5 brothers). She has a close relationship with her parents, who instilled a passion for running early as they would take her for runs before school on the trails in Ogden, Utah. Sarah's husband is an orthopedic surgery resident at the University of Arizona.
