Sara Vaughn

Sara has been a professional runner since 2008. She has set new Personal Bests every season she has raced. Her most recent achievements include making the Olympic Trials final in the 1500m (just 10 months after her third child!) and competing for Team USA at the Indoor World Championships. While running, Sara has been the cover girl for Running Times Magazine and video model for video series with Nike Running, RunningTimes.com, Running DVDs, and Find Your Zone. She is also a prolific Realtor and loves showing off her hometown of Boulder. Sara is happily married to fellow professional distance runner, Brent Vaughn. The couple has three beautiful daughters.

Carrie interviews Jordan Hasay! They chat about her Boston Marathon race strategy, where she broke the record for the fastest American debut by a woman in 2:23:00. Jordan also reflects on her relationship with her parents, and she gives the inside scoop on being coached by Alberto Salazar.

Jordan Hasay

Jordan Hasay is an American distance runner who runs for the Nike Oregon Project. She grew up in Arroyo Grande, attending Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School. In 2008 she was selected as Girls High School Athlete of the Year at Track & Field News. She was the ninth high school athlete to grace the cover of Track and Field News magazine in March of 2009.

After high school, Jordan attended the University of Oregon where she became one of their most decorated female athletes, earning a place in the Ducks history books.

After graduation, Jordan joined the Nike Oregon Project to be coached by Alberto Salazar. She placed second at the 2013 US National Championships in the 10,000m. Later, lowering her PR for the event down to 31:46.42, she secured her spot to represent the US at the 2013 World Championships. She won the 2016 USATF 10 Mile Road Championships in St. Paul, Minnesota.

In January 2017, Jordan placed 4th in the Aramco Houston Half Marathon in 01:08:40, setting an American female course record, and the second fastest half-marathon debut for an American female. She made her marathon debut at the 2017 Boston Marathon, finishing third overall and breaking the American record for the fastest debut marathon in 2:23:00.

Dennis Barker

Dennis Barker is a coach and writer. He is the author of The River Road, a historical running novel nominated for the 2016 Track & Field Writers of America Book of the Year. He has coached 24 U.S. national champions, including Olympian Carrie Tollefson, and 73 top three finishers. He has also coached NCAA All-Americans at the collegiate level and Minnesota All-State runners at the high school level. He continues to coach individuals striving for personal goals through his website coachbarker.com.

Carrie catches up with elite runner and filmmaker Alexi Pappas! Alexi talks about falling in love with running, competing for Greece in the 2016 Olympic Games and the premiere of her movie Tracktown, which she co-wrote, co-directed and starred in!

Alexi Pappas
Alexi Pappas is a Greek-American long distance athlete. She attended Dartmouth where she was an NCAA All American in indoor 3000m, 5000m, and the steeplechase as well as the Ivy League champion in the steeplechase. She became a citizen of Greece in 2016, and represented the country in the 2016 Olympic Games where she set the national record in the 10000m in 31:36.16. Alexi co-wrote, co-directed and starred in the movie <em>Tracktown</em>, premiering in spring 2017.
